Conquering Vail...

The Baran's went to Vail today to conquer the mountain and they succeeded! Annette, Liam and I all hung out in the lodge and surrounding village and had a great time as the weather was fantastic.

Sunny Dec 30th...

Annette and I went skiing (I boarded) this morning and then we all went into Breckenridge for the afternoon. The weather was fantastic and Liam attracted a lot of attention with his smiles and cute hat. The Baran's are going to ski Vail tomorrow and Annette and I are taking a day off to recover from a few hard days of skiing.

In the mountains...

The Smith Clan all returned to Canada on the 26th and 28th of December and so we packed up the car and the Baran Clan headed into the mountains. We had rented a condo to stay in starting on Friday but given the storm we came up the day before to try and beat it (we failed) and stayed with my colleague James at his place in Frisco.

Before heading up though Annette took a number of our guests up Pikes Peak (14,000 ft) and they really enjoyed the views (see pics).

Today we were skiing and tomorrow more of the same....it's great but exhausting. It's 8pm and we are all ready for bed!

Santa Baby...

We all had a great time yesterday and everything worked out really well with the baptism, dinner, drinks and singing!

Christmas Eve....

The Baran and Smith clans have come together at our house now having successfully made it here depsite the heavy congestion at the airport. Tonight is a traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow we're having Turkey and all the rest.

Everyone is of course charmed by little Liam and we have had to institute a timer system whereby no one can hog him :)

The sun has returned...

The blizzard is now over and we are still digging out but the sun is at least out and it looks fantastic in the mountains. Unfortunately we can't take Liam for his daily walk though because the sidewalks have about 3 feet of snow on them still.

He is doing really well and getting heavy! I figure he must be about 14 pounds or more now...

Another Snow Day...

It is a long time since I've seen this much snow! It's now been snowing (blizzard conditions) for almost 40 hours. My parents have been earning their keep by helping shovel the driveway..again...and again...

Liam has been fascinated by the snow and was looking out the window...longing to help his daddy shovel the driveway and to build a snowman :)

The Denver airport is still closed but it is supposed to open tomorrow at 9am so we're expecting no delays in the arrival of the Baran clan and remainder of the Smith clan.
