Liam's going to have a ....

..SISTER! We had our 20 week ultrasound/check-up on Monday July 21st and are delighted to announce that we are having a girl!

Annette and baby are both doing really well and we are all very excited. We were conflicted about whether to find out what the sex of the baby was this time (we didn't with Liam) but decided that we just couldn't wait until December.

In Jersey...

We are all in New Jersey and Liam is enjoying beating the heat by avoiding wearing any clothes! (but I can't put those pics up on the site!)

I'm off tomorrow for a quick business trip before meeting Annette and Liam in Toronto. We then head up to my brother's cottage for about 10 days of water skiing, wakeboarding and relaxation. Then Annette and I will both be back in Jersey for a week before heading back - after almost 2 months way - to Denver.

In Memory of Greg Baran (1979-2008)

On July 8, 2008 our family suffered a terrible tragedy. My brother, Greg, who was 29 years old,  passed away unexpectedly.  DSCF2381[1]

It was a shock to our family and we are experiencing extraordinary sadness over his loss.

Greg was an incredible person with a fun-loving and kind personality. He leaves behind three  beautiful children, Adam (9), Kaia (5) and Sophia (4).

Liam at almost 22 months...

Over the past few weeks Liam has really started to develop.  He can now count to 5 (pretty consistently, but not perfectly) in both English and Polish, he can form sentences of up to 3 and sometimes 4 words.   He understands EVERYTHING we say and is like a parrot so we have to be very careful about what we say and how we say it!

He also said his own name for the first time yesterday (June 13th)!

Last day in the sun...

We leave tomorrow to head back to New Jersey, and then on to Denver...

Second last day ...

We have been having a great time and enjoying the food, beach and a few drinks :)    Liam is a little fish in the little pool, he loves seeing the peacock and is still eating really well.

Liam is now saying "no mine" for a number of things ....well, everything actually.  Not in a nasty way but he obviously has learned the phrase and has decided it applies to most situations :)    The terrible two's may well be right around the corner...although he's such a sweet little guy I doubt he could be nasty if he tried.

Another day in the sun...

We had another day in the sun in Mexico.  Liam fell asleep last night at the dinner table after his long day so we'll see how he does tonight.

Day 2 in Mexico

Today was another relaxing day.  We were at the beach most of the day and Liam enjoyed himself again - he loves the water and is chatting more and more each day (mostly to himself).  He continues to eat more than we've ever seen before...so Mexican food obviously agrees with him!

Hanging out in Mexico

We are all in Mexico now and the resort we are at is great.  We have rooms right next door to each other and near the beach & pools; and the restaurants have a great selection of food.  Liam has been eating like a champion and is enjoying playing at the beach and in the pool.

Liam also saw monkeys and a peacock for the first time!

Our holiday started out on a good note with Annette and I being upgraded to first class.  Liam enjoyed himself watching his video in his own seat, and so did I with a few refreshments...
