Toledo day trip from Madrid

We all met up at the train station and caught the train for a day trip to Toledo. We walked winding through the beautiful streets. Saw the Alcazar and the Cathedral then we had a lunch (very unsuccessful )but in a pleasant spot. We walked to the overlook of the city and a main square for train tickets and ice cream. The train ride tour was great with commentary and a stop with spectacular panoramic views.

We headed home on the train and had an early night...

Madrid Day One and Day Two

We flew to Madrid from Krakow to spend time with our good friends Roberto and Blanca, and their lovely two kids. We arrived in Madrid in the afternoon and after settling into flat, we then went to Roberto and Blanca's house. We went to the local cafe and kids play together in the open space then we had tapas at their house while the kids played. We tried being on "Madrid" time and stayed up later than usual...

On day Two(Sunday), we met up with R and B at Atocha and went to El Retiro park.

We passed through the marathon and stopped at a playground. The park is full of people watching and cafes. We enjoyed the fountains and a snack at the park. Near the lake with row boats we saw clowns and magicians performing. Then, we walked to the Reina Sofia to see Picasso Guernica, Miro and Goya paintings.

We had drinks in the square outside the museum. The kids played together and we all had fun, afterwards we walked to Edyta and Miguel's place.

The kids played with Leonardo and Alexander and we had a nice time with the adults. Great wine, family Jamon and Tapas. Miguel Angel made the most amazing paella...I loved the enormous pan.

We walked home ... Another late night
