San Juan islands

We caught a very early ferry over to San Juan Island to miss the crowds of the holiday weekend.(turns out the frist one was very quiet).The ferry ride was incredible with wonderful views of the sounds and islands as the fog was burning off the forests as the sun was rising.

We had breakfast in town then headed out the Lime Kiln Park, a well-known park for orca whale viewing. It was early and after some walks, we were reluctant about seeing orcas...until ..... a huge barge passed and the whales came in!

We were lucky enough to see about 10 Orca whales or more swimming by!
