Day 5 of Yellowstone and our trip to Jackson and Grand Teton National Park

Today was the grand finale of our trip to Yellowstone - Old Faithful! We woke up, packed up and started back into the park along the Madison River. The drive along the river was beautiful and we saw hundreds of bison grazing in the field(too many to count). We stopped in at a couple smaller geysers that were great to see, but very hot and steamy. The most beautiful was Grand Prismatic which was a beautiful color turquoise. Then we continued on and arrived in perfect time, Old Faithful was about to erupt in 15 minutes, so we walked over got front row seats. Very cool to watch!

After a quick snack we hit the road south down to Grand Teton National Park. Just before we left Yellowstone, we pulled over to watch a mama bear and her two cubs along the river. It was very exciting to see! You don't really notice that you have entered a new park until you see the mountains. The views are incredible. We pulled off along Jackson Lake in a very secluded picnic spot along the water with the mountains behind us. We had a leisurely lunch and then headed to Jackson because we were afraid of bears trapping us on the beach ; )

Jackson is a very cool, western town and with a very nice main square. We checked into our hotel with a pool that afternoon(yay!) and enjoyed a swim and hot tub before dinner. We played Uno in the bar and had a bite. We all loved the bison burger! (even our former vegetarian Lily)
